The bikes that we sell reflect our interests. We can advise you on the purchase of a road bike for racing, touring or randonneuring, but cannot help you with the choice of a mountain bike. We feel that we can service our customers best by concentrating on the areas that we know best.

We produce Mariposa bikes in our workshop.

Mike Barry produced the first Mariposa in 1969 and over the years Mariposas have gained the reputation of being amongst the finest bikes built in Canada. All Mariposas are hand built in the workshop of Bicycle Specialties.

Each and every bike is custom built to the individual customer's requirements. Mariposas have been built for some of Canada's top road and track racing cyclists. Mariposa touring and randonneur bikes, complete with custom carriers, have the reputation of being amongst the finest available.

There have been Mariposas built for all purposes and for all shapes and sizes of cyclists. One has a 12" (30cm) frame and 16" wheels another a 30" (76cm) frame and is collapsible so that its very tall rider can fit it into his small aircraft. We even built the bike upon which Dede Barry won the 2002 Montreal World Cup race.
